Complete
schedules
for Spring
2005 have
now been
posted and,
in an
exciting new
development,
TOP Soccer
have
announced
that the
annual end
of season
tournament
will take
place at the
indoor
PlayUSA
facility in
Aurora on
Saturday
June 4th.
For the 2005 season TOPS will,
for the first time in its history, end the season with a round robin tournament
at the indoor PlayUSA facility, located central to all the participating sites.
TOPS have also posted schedules for the regular season on this website and, in
trying to maintain the most successful aspects of the program as well as
progressing it to a new level, will retain practices at the four locations used
last Fall.
The new schedule also means a return to the traditional four o'clock kick-off
time for the majority of the sites.
Plans are being put in place for the big kick-off on April 16th and each site
will run for six weeks before breaking for the Memorial Day weekend holiday.
Each site has an 'off-week' built into their program to accommodate the
specific needs of that particular area.
The Spring 2005 season will conclude with the round-robin celebration tournament
at the PlayUSA site running from 3-5pm on June 4th.
The indoor facility guarantees their will be no inclement weather issues on the
final day and will allow the participants to escape the worst of the June heat.
The tournament games will be appropriately time-controlled and divided on
age-specific lines to allow each player to get the best out of their
participation.
PlayUSA features one full-sized indoor field for tournament games, and one
smaller practice field for activities. There is also a giant timed scoreboard to
add to the final day tournament excitement.
In other developments, our updated curriculum is nearing completion, ensuring
the highest quality of
practice exercises and games for our players and discussions are ongoing about
the possibility of including PlayUSA as an inclement weather site throughout the
season.
In addition, coaches from the Chicago Fire youth development program will be
brought in to assist at each site for the first time, and TOP Soccer will be
working to implement the changes and improvements suggested by your feedback and
comments.
TOP Soccer encourages you to keep checking the website prior to and throughout
the season to keep up to date will all the latest TOPS developments.
